New Bed! | Sydney Dog Photographer

The zipper on the dog bed in our living room broke recently. I was reluctant to fork out big bucks for another one, but every time I turned my back the wretched Staffys pulled the stuffing out of it and it was breaking my heart! I stumbled across Molly Mutt on Facebook. They sell covers for dog beds in really hip fabrics which are 100% cotton and pre-shrunk. It was the prefect solution as the bed didn’t need to be thrown out altogether, it just needed a new cover. They also sell a “stuff sack” so you can make your own bed using old towels, pillows, clothes, etc.! Such a great idea.

Here’s three of ours modeling it. Ivan doesn’t like to fraternise with the riff-raff. He was nearby though, waiting for some photo session treats!

Ty - Love this shot!

Ruth[less] - Thanks!!

molly mundt - ruth, thank you so SO much for posting this!! i’ve added your blog to the molly mutt blog, because basically? you = awesome!

Ruth[less] - Oh yeah, forgot to mention I ordered by email because their website isn’t setup to accept international orders.

Linda Kitson - Hi Ruth

where did you buy it – did you order it direct from their website or via a different location – these look awesome

Busting Myths! | Strong Dog Collars

Chopper modeled some orders before they were posted this morning. Apparently the Rocknrolla is pretty popular!

A few people have been surprised to hear that all our collars come in so many different colours. The majority of them are available in twelve different combinations, not just what’s in the photo on the product page. Take the collar above as an example, it’s available in the following combos:
black leather with silver, brass or antique brass hardware
brown leather with silver, brass or antique brass hardware
burgundy leather with silver, brass or antique brass hardware
chestnut leather with silver, brass or antique brass hardware

We’ll be adding a pdf to the website at some stage with all the different designs in the different combinations, but in the meantime just check out the other product listings to get an idea of what the different combos look like. If you’re still having trouble visualising it, just send us an email and we’ll set out your design in your choice of leather and hardware and send you a photo of it. We’re nice like that!

Happy Easter! | Sydney Dog Photographer

The Turd Burglar | Sydney Dog Photographer

This photo was taken for the “places where dogs shouldn’t be” challenge in the 52 Weeks for Dogs group on Flickr.

Please don’t read this if you’re easily offended, of a sensitive disposition or generally don’t like stories about pooh!

Chopper’s always had a penchant for pooh. I’ll never forget how grossed out I was the first time I caught him eating dog pooh in the garden. My dog with the licking obsession also eats dog pooh, how revolting!! We learned to be more vigilant with the frequency of our pooh patrols and corrected him when ever he was caught doing it. It seemed to stop … either that or he learned not to get caught!

Our toilet doesn’t always flush properly, so if you do number twosies you have to try and remember to go back and check if it needs a second flush. Well imagine how utterly horrified I was to find Chopper in there one day with half his body in the toilet trying to reach a little left-over pooh nugget. Vile.

These days we make sure to close the lid, but poor Chopper can’t shake off his new nicknames … “shit breath” and “the turd burglar”. Bless.

I apologise if you’re a new visitor to my blog. I assure you this is as bad as it gets!!

Ruth[less] - Haha, no a pizza box and some kibble!

robyn arouty - omg! i can’t stop laughing! girl, did u plant a piece of poop in that toilet just to get this awesome shot?!

TerraNik - Oh my! I was horrified when we were staying at a friend’s house and was told that Jedi had been drinking out of their toilet bowl (the toilet fills up a LOT higher than normal)!!! But this… This just takes the cake!!!!!!!!!

Ruth[less] - Should I have waited until after you booked your flights to tell this tale??

Serena - OMG Ruth, That is seriously vile, what is wrong with that dog……….LOL. Great shot.

Ruth[less] - Thanks!

Shannon Plummer - Absolutely priceless!! Set up or not – awesome image and execution – Love it!!!!!!

Ruth[less] - Should I have made it clear that this shot is set up and he’s actually reaching in there to get the kibble off the cardboard platform??

Lisa - Oh my goodness….. Am I sick to be laughing out loud right now???? His front feet are IN THE BOWL?? I think Chopper would get along really well with my Ignatius.

A bored dog is a boring dog

Chopper stuffed up a muscle in his shoulder last weekend playing fetch, so the vet prescribed anti-inflammatories and rest. He’s been getting onlead walks, but he’s craving a run. He keeps staring longingly out the window wishing he was free.

When Chopper’s bored he’ll find anything that can fit in his mouth and try and get you to throw it for him. High risk items are door wedges, socks and flip-flops!!

Ruth[less] - Lots of training! He gets paid well too so he enjoys it.

Masha - He looks gorgeous, as always. How do you get him to stay still? Mine wont for more than a few seconds, even on ‘stay’.
