Little and Large | Sydney Dog Photographer

William and Brown really are the quintessential odd couple! William the Westie is your typical cheeky little terrier and Brown the Greyhound is quiet and unassuming… although he is prone to the occasional bout of zoomies! We started at their house in Paddington and then moved on to Centennial Park.

William likes to drop, crawl and then roll around like a crazy thing!

Brown just likes relaxing and taking it all in.

Isn’t he cute as a button?

Brown used to be a racer, but he was dumped and subsequently rescued. Although he’s very happy with his new life as a lounge lizard he still likes to stretch his legs occasionally.

William likes to run too!

William and Brown’s owners won this session in a fund-raising auction for Pet Rescue. So not only was it heaps of fun to do this shoot, but the money went to a great cause also. Thanks Sophie and Alex!

Bev - What a perfect pair! And their names sound like a law firm..

Deb - seriously cute, cuter than buttons, and I love the shapes Brown makes. wonderful job!

Flynn the Kelpie | Sydney Pet Photographer

When I arrived for Flynn’s photoshoot he was already entertaining himself with a ball in the living room. The other three dogs he lives with are all a bit older with lower energy levels, so when he throws the ball in front of them and they don’t take it he just grabs it and throws it around for himself. I could have sat and watched him for hours, it was hilarious! So, if you think there’s a bit of a crazed, ball-obsessed, look in his eyes in a lot of these photos, you’re not wrong!

When we’d finished in the garden we went to a park to get some action shots. I was so excited to find another pile of woodchips there! My new favourite thing!

Little Riley even got in on the modeling action. Such a cutie!

What is it Flynn? Is it a ball? Fetchhhhhhhh…

Apparently he slept well that night. I know I did too, I was exhausted! Thanks for another fun shoot Adriana. I can’t wait until you get your next foster failure so I can come back for more!;)

susan wall - wow what lovely dogs, and your portraits of them really are fantastic! Wish you would travel this way!

ShortDog - What an awesome shoot, I love Kelpies!

Ian J - Awesome shots Ruth! I love that crazy Flynn guy, he looks fun! :)

Beck - wow, so cool! who knew you could get fantastic portrait like pics of dogs :O amazing!

Katie Kolenberg - Seriously cool Ruth. LOVE the woodchip ones, but the one directly above it is my favourite. You captured so much personality!

Adriana - Love love love these pics of my fur kids!! You’re the best Ruth!

Bianca - Ruth, Ruth, Ruth…why have I never seen your work before. These are so awesome. The one of him jumping the log is amazing. I love them all so much!!!

Anda - Ruth, these are fantastic! Flynn the Kelpie is the perfect dog in my eyes :) You captured his energy and ball love so well! I’ve been living with a similar personality in the coat of a Border Collie for 5 years, and I can attest you did a fabulous job at documenting the beauty and joy of having fun with balls and natural obstacles.

Love your action shot at the end!

And the dizzying bokeh portraits need to be printed and proudly displayed – I am sure his owner will do that!

Riley is a total cutie :)

Jennifer Metzger - Oh, he is so gorgeous! What a fun dog to photograph. Love the ones where he almost blends into the background.

Deb - Total cuties, and I love the big grin jumping over the log. :)

Ty - Ruth, these are phenomenal!

Ruth[less] - Thanks Ty!

Riley, Winston & Spencer

I had the pleasure of photographing Riley, Winston and Spencer yesterday. I’ve met their owner a few times before, but this was my first time meeting her dogs. I’ve been accused before of only liking my own dogs, but the more dogs I meet, the more I realise how untrue that is!! I suppose the fact that Riley and Winston are terriers means they’re not that different to what I’m used to. They’re fun, cheeky and full of personality! Spencer, the rescue Border Collie x Spaniel, was a bit shy at first, but luckily he’s very toy and food driven, so he didn’t stay shy for long.

Here’s a few of my faves from the shoot.

And, since it’s nearly the season …

Thanks for a great morning Adriana!!

Serena - They look great Ruth, well done:)

Alicia – Savvy Studios - Christmas Cuties!! :D
