Booker | Sydney Dog Photographer

At 17 years of age, Booker is by far the most senior dog I photographed to date. She’s deaf and a little senile, so the session took a very different pace to my usual shoots. We met in Centennial Park on Monday afternoon. The skies had finally cleared after three days of rain. I didn’t have a huge amount of time as she tires quickly, so, armed with her favourite snack – liver treats – off we went!

You see that smile? Entirely thanks to the food!

She liked to just plod along and do her own thing, but every now and again I’d wave a treat under her nose and her whole face would come to life.

After all the trekking through the greenery and around the woodchip she had a little sit down in the long grass and enjoyed the evening sun.

What a sweet old girl and a real pleasure to photograph, thanks Danielle!

Kristin - What a gorgeous ol’ gal! Love the top right and bottom left especially :)

Bully | Sydney Dog Photographer

A week and a half ago we donated a collar to be raffled off to raise funds for Bully’s cancer operation. For those that missed it on Facebook, over $450 was raised. Thanks to everyone that bought tickets! I’d never met Bully before, but his temp carer lives quite near me so I asked if she wanted to meet up for a mini photo session. I’m a sucker for white bullies, so it was a big treat for me! Even if I did have to shower as soon as I got home to get all his drool off me!

Bully will be going for his operation next week, so fingers crossed it all goes well for him and he gets a clean bill of health.

Mel Sweeney - GORGEOUS photos Ruth, of a gorgeous boy! All the best to you Bully boy…

He and Kudos are reminiscent of one another… you do love the white bully fellas!

Smiles,
Mel

alexa - You’re a sucker for all bullys… And staffies. ;) He is gorgeous! Love those first two shots.

JK - All tbe best to Bully – hugs and kisses!

Anita - love love LOVE that second shot!! Perfection!

Kim - Wow.. absolutely love these photos!

Ty - These are all awesome, great job!

Obi | Sydney Dog Photographer

Obi was the last of our collar models. He’s just eight months old and his owner has only had him for two months, but he was surprisingly well behaved. He was like a coiled spring, but he knew if he sat still, however briefly, that he’d get rewarded. I told you he would be worth the wait. Isn’t he a beauty?! He came from the AWL in Ingleside. He’s believed to be a Bullmastiff x Ridgeback, hence the lovely eyeliner and forehead wrinkles!

When he was done with sitting still he got to hoon around the park. I think he likes hooning!!

Such a great dog. I think he should come and live with me:)

Anita - oooh he’s handsome indeed!!

Janet Palmer - he’s gorgeous :) love the eye contact! :)

Charlotte Reeves - Nooo you’re mistaken, I think he should come live with ME!! What a handsome doggy, I just love the eyeliner and head wrinkles!!

Ruth[less] - He’s cute, eh? And so happy and well balanced. He’s a real pleasure compared to my dogs!!

beth - I love the eyeliner and his little white patches on his ears, he’s stunning!!

Lisa - Wow, if that’s not the most amazing mix EVER??? I adore the second to last shot of him in the grass… Nice work Ruth!

Ty - Obi you are the man!

Love that last black and white, so much energy Great shot!

Ruth[less] - Haha, I thought you’d like him ;)

Rick and Lesley Allen - Awesome photos – best one for us was the one of Obi hooning aroung the field. Rick is just “pissed off” that he wasn’t wearing our collar!!! Excellent.

Trish and Sonny said “He’s beautiful – getting soooooooooo big!” Almost like Tonka.

Great Photos – well Done :)

Wrinkly Foreheads… | Sydney Dog Photographer

… I just love them!

Jenn - Those eyes just melt your heart …beautiful pups;)

Wendy - Me too! They are my second favourite “body” part after ears. :)

alexa - I love them too! These are such sweet portraits.

Sourpuss and Smileyface! | Sydney Dog Photographer

I had a mini-session with Bell and Layne this morning. They were doing some collar modeling for me. Bell is Oscar‘s litter sister and she’s just as adorable. I joked about her having a sourpuss like Trixie, but her breeder explained that it’s just that she takes being an Amstaff very seriously!

Clearly Layne doesn’t take himself too seriously at all!!

Anita - These are awesome Ruth! Love the top left and bottom right the best!

Ruth[less] - Thanks! It’s soooo good to have my camera back :)

Serena - Love the bottom right. Cool.
