Stellaaaaaaaa! | Sydney Puppy Photographer

Stella [the lost puppy] spent a couple of days here last week before going to her new home. I thought she’d be here for longer so I didn’t take as many photos as I would’ve liked to. What a shame, she’s such a pretty little thing.

Stink eye!

Even though Bruno had fun playing with her I think eventually she would’ve broken his heart. She’s a demon!! If you don’t believe me, check out this video.

Speaking of videos, you should watch this one of them too, it’s kind of adorable!

I never thought I say this, but I actually miss the little madam! I’m getting plenty of updates though and it sounds like she’s settling in well. Oddly enough, as soon as she found a home her doppelganger turned up in the pound. This is Petey [named after my Dad!], he’ll be going into foster care with Puppy Love Rescue tomorrow and will be available for adoption towards the end of August.

Pamila Schwartz - I hope she found a terrifficcccc forever home…. she is a precious little one that promises to be a great one…..

Ian J - Awww, man, Stella, she is GORGEOUS!!! I bet it was hard not to keep her! And that second video of her and Bruno…IM IN LOVE! :) Bruno seems very gentle with her :)

Sarah - I am in love with Stella! If I lived in Sydney, we would adopt her in a second. What a beautiful girl, and as always, gorgeous photos.

Celebrating the new kid | Sydney Dog Photographer

It’ll come as no surprise to anyone that Bruno is now officially a foster failure. He’s slotting into the pack nicely and although he’s not quite the perfect puppy that he hoodwinked me into thinking he was, he’s still pretty well behaved compared to Chopper at his age!

To celebrate the new pack member I’m offering a 2 for 1 canvas deal to the first person to email me. Due to the timeframe this offer is open to existing customers only. The first canvas can be any size but the second canvas must be the same size or smaller. The only condition is that it needs to be ordered and paid for in full by noon tomorrow [Thurs 29 June 2011]. Please email me for a copy of my current pricelist if you don’t already have it.

sarah - GORGEOUS dog! congrats :)

Ruth[less] - He may be naughty, but the camera loves him so keeping him was a no brainer!

Alyssa - Yeah like being a gorgeous model is the only reason he is staying!… ;-)

Shauna (Fido & Wino) - Congratulations! Look at those eyes! :)

Erin - how.CUTE!!!!!!!!!!AHHHHHH!

Bethany Giannini - Oh my he is cute! Love this photo!

SiM - Cute as!! He looks like he definately has Boxer in him, maybe Boxer x Staffy. I have a Boxer x Mastiff and the markings on the face are extremely similar and especially the eyes (the little bit of white between the eyes) – feels like I am looking at her twin!

The Towilla Amstaffs | Sydney Dog Photographer

As I mentioned in my country holiday post, we stayed at the Towilla Amstaffs property near the Central Coast of NSW. As a thank you I offered to photograph their dogs while we were there. They’re all such great dogs, I couldn’t pick a favourite to smuggle home!

If you receive this blog post by email or RSS feed I suggest that you click on the heading to open it in a browser as the gallery looks much better online.

Jennifer Metzger - I would have trouble picking a favorite too….but I am leaning towards the first big one, or the third one in the top row. :) Tough call. That one is so sweet looking!

Deb - nothing like those big, beautiful heads. :) nice portraits and smiles.

Ian J - Awwwwww, what a beautiful heard of hounds! I LOVE them all, i love the one of the red and white one on the decking :)

Ruth[less] - I probably could’ve given them names, hey?! The handsome guy in the first pic is Thunder. Next is Ruby, followed by her daughter Amali and then her grand-daughter Whiskey. Poor Whiskey never learned how to smile, God love her!

amanda - Awwww-some :)

Emma Turner - Come back for a second look, number 1 is my fave ,its the look on his face ,what captions you could put with it LOL

jason - :) :) :) Saxon is looking more like his mum everyday!!! AWESOME pics Ruth!!! as usual :)

Mischiefmaka puppies | Sydney Puppy Photographer

If you receive this blog post by email I suggest that you click on the heading to open it in a browser as the gallery looks much better online.

I spent three lovely days in puppy town last week [aka Mischiefmaka Kennels in country Victoria]. There was much talk beforehand about which puppies I wanted but couldn’t have [cause in reality our hands are pretty full with our current three], so it was probably for the best that all the puppies had homes lined up when I got there. All our dogs are rescues so we’ve never had a puppy and I REALLY REALLY want one, but I had to make do with just a fleeting visit and coming home empty handed.

Mischiefmaka only breeds once a year but her bitches came into season at the same time so she had two litters on the ground when I went down. One lot were almost 8 weeks old and the others were 6 weeks. I had contemplated getting props to put them in and then decided it would be too cheesy, but in hindsight, the ability to contain the little mischievous monkeys would’ve definitely worked in my favour, photographing puppies is hard!! Here are some of the ones I got that aren’t just blurry zoomies! [Click on the thumbnails to open the gallery.]

You may have noticed a somewhat oversized puppy in there, that was Capone [Mischiefmaka Chainsaw Charlie] who’s the sire of the younger litter. If you’ve been following my blog for a while you might have also noticed that he was copying Kyuss‘s modeling shots from my last visit. I’ll probably be in trouble for posting those first two photos cause they were taken before he had a facewash and a beard trim, but I’ll take that risk!

I’ve uploaded some of these photos to my RedBubble store and made two calendars. You can check them out here. Remember there’s 15% off all purchases made in my store until Sunday 14th Nov 2010. The discount code is “ruthlessphotos_is_on_sale_6914″.

Julie Austin - Oh. My. God.

Andrea - Oh my – they are soooooo cute!!! I could not have left without one of those – adorable!! Great job too – I can’t imagine it would have been easy!

SJ - These came out really good Ruthie..LOL at all the trouble and bad weather we had, at least you have a new respect for how hard it is to photograph puppies , U might not nag me all the time for puppy pics now? haha Of course you will!

Oh n btw its CH.Mischiefmaka Chainsaw Charlie, he worked hard for his title, dont steal it from him :P

alexa - I’m not jealous. Not a teensy bit.

I want a litter of adorable teensy puppies to photograph!!!!!! Lucky you! :)

Kyuss the Amstaff | Sydney Dog Photographer

If you follow my Facebook page you might have seen me announce that I’d lined up shoots with three Boston Terriers and a Chinese Crested while we were in Melbourne. Well you’ve seen the Bostons and now here’s Kyuss… you’d be right in thinking she’s a funny looking Chinese Crested! She’s Mischiefmaka Miss Persuasion*, an American Staffordshire Terrier. She belongs to the breeder that made Oscar and Bell. It was far too cold for Harley the Chinese Crested to be outside with no coat on so I’ll have to wait until it’s warmer to shoot him.

As you can probably tell from the ground in that photo it was raining slightly. Kyuss didn’t mind though, she was all about the treats and finding the best route to my hand. Be it jumping on the sofa…

…or jumping on me!

In an attempt to get her to stay still for a few seconds I put her in a chair, but she cracked the sads. I couldn’t stand to look at that miserable face so I let her down and she decided to go and jump on Dave instead – allowing me to take a gratuitous bum shot! Nice ass Kyuss!

Thanks for your hospitality SJ. See you in a few months for Pony’s shoot:D

* I’m going to put a little disclaimer in here for SJ… as the plan was to shoot Harley, Kyuss wasn’t prepared for the shoot. Even unwashed and untrimmed I still think she’s pretty gorgeous though!

Mel S - What a wonderful face she has, and great markings and colour. And of course – a great rear-end! Great shots Ruth!

spencer smith - Amazing Ruth… she is hopefully the mum of my next babe. how adorable and little is she?? you are so amazing ruth… you capture the essense of the dog every time :) and yay so SJ for making the most beautiful dogs!!!

Ruth[less] - Thanks mate :) I’m hoping to photograph Kyuss’s litter when they’re about 7wks, so maybe we can catch up then!

Cazzie - Great shots Ruth .. unwashed or not shes beautiful ♥

SJ - Awww look at her in the 2nd last photo Even i feel like giving her a big kiss now…She looks like a little homeless dog with no love haha.

Ruth you always do such an awesome job, ive not seen a single shot that wasnt top shelf from any shoot you have done…big ups ;)

Hopefully next time Ill be more organised and it wont be the dead of winter and my lot will be ready to knock your photo taking socks off!
