Category Archives: 52 weeks of Chopper
Now THAT is adorable. Love it.
Ruth that is too cute and hilarious! Love it…Happy Easter! xx
Don’t worry about him, he got paid
Poor Chopper. Great shot though.
This photo was taken for the “places where dogs shouldn’t be” challenge in the 52 Weeks for Dogs group on Flickr.
Please don’t read this if you’re easily offended, of a sensitive disposition or generally don’t like stories about pooh!
Chopper’s always had a penchant for pooh. I’ll never forget how grossed out I was the first time I caught him eating dog pooh in the garden. My dog with the licking obsession also eats dog pooh, how revolting!! We learned to be more vigilant with the frequency of our pooh patrols and corrected him when ever he was caught doing it. It seemed to stop … either that or he learned not to get caught!
Our toilet doesn’t always flush properly, so if you do number twosies you have to try and remember to go back and check if it needs a second flush. Well imagine how utterly horrified I was to find Chopper in there one day with half his body in the toilet trying to reach a little left-over pooh nugget. Vile.
These days we make sure to close the lid, but poor Chopper can’t shake off his new nicknames … “shit breath” and “the turd burglar”. Bless.
I apologise if you’re a new visitor to my blog. I assure you this is as bad as it gets!!

Haha, no a pizza box and some kibble!
omg! i can’t stop laughing! girl, did u plant a piece of poop in that toilet just to get this awesome shot?!
Oh my! I was horrified when we were staying at a friend’s house and was told that Jedi had been drinking out of their toilet bowl (the toilet fills up a LOT higher than normal)!!! But this… This just takes the cake!!!!!!!!!
Should I have waited until after you booked your flights to tell this tale??
OMG Ruth, That is seriously vile, what is wrong with that dog……….LOL. Great shot.
Thanks!
Absolutely priceless!! Set up or not – awesome image and execution – Love it!!!!!!
Should I have made it clear that this shot is set up and he’s actually reaching in there to get the kibble off the cardboard platform??
Oh my goodness….. Am I sick to be laughing out loud right now???? His front feet are IN THE BOWL?? I think Chopper would get along really well with my Ignatius.
Chopper stuffed up a muscle in his shoulder last weekend playing fetch, so the vet prescribed anti-inflammatories and rest. He’s been getting onlead walks, but he’s craving a run. He keeps staring longingly out the window wishing he was free.
When Chopper’s bored he’ll find anything that can fit in his mouth and try and get you to throw it for him. High risk items are door wedges, socks and flip-flops!!

Lots of training! He gets paid well too so he enjoys it.
He looks gorgeous, as always. How do you get him to stay still? Mine wont for more than a few seconds, even on ‘stay’.
And this right here is the reason why I don’t use food rewards when photographing Chopper!
In case you were under a rock and missed it, check out my New Year’s Resolutions here.

Brilliant!
That first shot is just priceless. Love it! lol
Haha, the bubble is fantastic! I love that you captured these!
Rocco is laughing right now… he thinks Chopper needs to try harder if he is ever going to challenge him…. LOL. Great shot Ruth, I love the crop.
hahaha, the same reason I don’t use it with Autumn as well! Nice bubble Chopper;)
Ok, so I’m eight days late, but I’ve been very busy making my shiny new blog. Isn’t it pretty?
Apart from the usual “go on a diet”, “eat healthier”, “save money” type resolutions that I make and break every year, I’ve decided to throw in a few extras … which I won’t break. Really, I won’t!!
– I’m embarking on 52 weeks of Chopper again. I started half way through last year and missed several weeks, but this year I’m going to commit to it. The photo above is 1/52. Stay tuned for the next 51!
– I’m also offering my photography skills to any animal rescue groups in or around the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. I’ve already had two small groups express an interest, but if you know of any others that need help getting photos of their animals to put on adoption websites please tell them to contact me.

I love this photo – very funny!
Love your site and will return regularly, well also post the appropriate picture sometime next week (wink, wink, nudge, nudge)
Weve also done a lot of fostering off our own bat and enjoy doing a lot of photography with our own zoo.If your ever up the Snowies – do drop in.
I’ll email you!
Awesome photos, love the clean look of them. I would also love to do what you have done re the photo with some of the welfare groups down here, can you give me any tips on how to approach them, as I would love to give back, but also don’t have any more room at the inn.
Thanks Deb! We used to foster, but since keeping Chopper and Trixie we can’t do that anymore. No room! I wanted to do something, so hopefully this helps in some way
Awesome you are using your photography to give back.
Don’t be! I’ve emailed you.
Very impressed with the blog! I have zero idea how to customize my ultra boring blog (I can handle myself around html quite well, but stylesheets/php is a whole different story!) so needless to say I’m quite jealous!
Thanks!
I like your new blog:)
