Bruno Loves Cocoa | Sydney Dog Photographer

Bruno had a play date with my friend’s foster dog today. They met on lead at dog training yesterday but today was their first off lead romp. Cocoa has an equally rambunctious play style so they’re a perfect match for each other. The weather was utterly rubbish and the park was over-run with dog walkers, but we managed to grab fifteen minutes to ourselves between showers and boy did they make the most of it!

Cocoa will be spending Christmas with us, so I imagine you’ll be seeing more of her pretty face soon.

kate - so good to see pics of dogs playing together like this without some horrible headline or attachment stating how hideous and vicious they are!! if you were to capture my dog mid play many photos would look the same, she is just having fun.. they jump, they wrestle, they show their teeth, thats dogs at play! keep up the great work in supporting these beautiful breed of dogs, one of which has brought endless joy into my life! the more we can educate people about how to care properly for their dogs the better this world will be…

Ruthless Leather update #15 | strong leather dog collars

This is probably going to be the last update of the year, so I’ll make it a good one!

We recently received a custom order for a Dobermann that’s being Schutzhund trained. They wanted an agitation harness for doing bite work. Yet again Dave came up with the goods and crafted this beautiful piece. Here it is being given a workout by Furia from MonElite Dobermanns before it was posted to the customer.

And a gratuitous fang shot!

Despite her position of “oldest dog in the house”, Princess Angel was last to get a collar and lead of her own. I think it was worth the wait though. She’ll now be sporting this gorgeous regular Asteroid Belt training collar in silver and burgundy with pink Swarovski crystals and a matching narrow 3ft lead.

Agility superstar Flow is turning one next week so her owner ordered her a very special collar to mark the occasion. It’s a regular Lone Ranger in black and silver with pink Swarovskis and a nameplate. Doesn’t it look amazing?

Some new leash designs have just been added to the website. A traffic lead, a mini lead for small dogs and the standard leash is now available with a Kimberley knot as well as the original Trinity knot [available in matching too].

I’ve added some new photos and testimonials to our Facebook page. There’s nothing quite like that warm fuzzy feeling you get from an email from a happy customer.

And lastly, the cut-off for Christmas orders was Fri 11 Nov 2011. Since I was a bit late getting this blog post published we’ll try and accommodate people if they get their orders in by 18 Nov. Gift vouchers can be ordered at any time and are sent by email so postal times aren’t an issue.

Niki van der Smagt - Thanks so much for Flow’s stunning collar!! She looks so good in it :D
I can’t wait till she starts trialling and we get professional agility photos of her in her bling!!

Tegan - Harness looks great. :) And you should get a tweet button on your blog to make things easier for me!

Stuff and Things | Sydney Dog Photographer

Excuse me for a minute while I jump on the complaining about Facebook bandwagon! If you’re not an active fan of my pages (liking or commenting on photos/status updates) you will no longer see my posts in your news feed. They’ve also gotten rid of the option to send a message to all my page likers, which I’m not too happy about. Soooo, the time has come to make myself a proper mailing list for keeping in touch with everyone. If you’d like to be added to the list please email Ruthless Photos and/or Ruthless Leather with “mailing list” as the subject.

Here are some things you might have missed since the Facebook changes took effect…

The gorgeous Texas [AKA Mr May in my calendar] spent the night here before going to his new home.

Petey is still here. But that’s ok because he’s proving to be quite a good little photographer’s muse.

His PetRescue profile is here. Please share it far and wide so we might find little orphan Petey a home for Christmas! [Pathetic enough?!]

Petey has such a great temperament that he was invited to be a dog ambassador at the anti-BSL rally that was held in Sydney a few weeks ago. Another ambassador there was Becks the white Boxer. Swoon!

More photos from the day are here.

Other posts you might have missed were Petey and Bruno’s Halloween photos. I know, I know…

And in the spirit of saving the best for last, I also announced an exclusive offer for Facebookers, but you’ll have to go to my page to see what it is!

Ohhhhh, and the calendars arrived from the printers. But they’re nearly sold out now, so that must be old news!

Kirstie - Oh me oh my they are both just gorgeous stud muffins! love!

Simon - Please blog more often Ruth, that towel shot is total genius! love the others too.

Sid and Vana | Sydney Cat Photographer

Mel was given a gift voucher for a photo session when she left her job at Hanrob many many months ago. She lives in a unit that doesn’t have a huge amount of natural light so she was hoping to train her cats to be ok outside. It didn’t go so well, so last week I took a deep breath and went to her apartment and hoped for the best! I don’t know what I was worried about, the cats were absolute pros and the light really wasn’t that bad. The only thing I wasn’t prepared for was the amount of scratches I’d be bringing home. I guess Happy Paws Training Treats are irresistible for cats too. And in fairness, it was wayyyyy past breakfast time!

Sid was a huge fan of the “look at the camera, I give you a treat” routine!

Vana preferred to be admired from a distance.

Imagine my joy when I was told the cats were allowed outside on the balcony! It made for a great backdrop.

I hope you like your photos Mel and Dean!

Bruno Boy | Sydney Dog Photographer

Whether he’s eyeballing cats through the bedroom window or ripping up yet another dog bed I just love this big goofy lump! He’s endless entertainment.

David Couillard - His eyes are hypnotic!
I love the color treatment. Nice work Ruth! :)
